Hope, Perseverance, and Resilience: Cassandra’s Journey to Motherhood

Posted on September 13, 2024 by Inception Fertility

Embarking on the journey to parenthood is often filled with excitement, but for Cassandra and her husband, it became a path lined with unexpected challenges, uncertainty, and emotional highs and lows. Like many women, Cassandra imagined that starting a family would be a natural part of life’s progression. But after two years of trying to conceive without success, they decided to seek help from a fertility specialist in Ohio.

With hopeful hearts, Cassandra and her husband started their first treatment protocol, intrauterine insemination (IUI). After five unsuccessful IUIs, Cassandra and her husband decided it was time to try something different. Simultaneously, Cassandra and her husband were embarking on a new life adventure and in the Fall of 2020, they moved to Florida. A family friend recommended Cassandra visit CRM, specifically Dr. Randall Loy.

“From our first call I knew it’d be different.”

Cassandra and her husband began their fertility journey with Dr. Loy and decided to try one more round of IUI. When this IUI was unsuccessful, Dr. Loy suggested they consider in vitro fertilization (IVF).

“I was nervous but the staff at CRM, nurses and other doctors included, were so wonderful.”

With unwavering determination, Cassandra started her first IVF cycle which resulted in 12 embryos. Walking into the office on transfer day, Cassandra and her husband felt nervous but hopeful. They didn’t know it then, but their perseverance was about to pay off.

“Our first attempt we were gifted with our beautiful little girl, who is about to be 2 years old.”

Cassandra recommends women starting their fertility journey “be patient, ask questions, and follow the advice of your doctor.”

Cassandra said the most challenging part of her journey was “the unknown, the failed pregnancy tests, and the countless blood draws and shots.” When asked how she was able to get through it, Cassandra responded, “To be honest, knowing my doctor believed I could get pregnant made it easier.”

Since then, Cassandra and her family have moved back to Ohio and have begun the process of adding another member to their family.

“I couldn’t give up CRM, the staff/ nurses or Dr. Loy so we are making the trek back for another round! We are so excited & hopeful!”
